Rose water is produced by distilling rose leaves; the essential oils of rose leaves are steamed out and you are left with a mixture of rose oil and water = rose water.

There are a number of benefits with rose water. Rose water is antibacterial, soothing, healing and has antiseptic properties. This water is very rich in flavonoids and vitamins, including A, C, D, E and B3. Rose water can reduce the risk of bladder infections and heart disease, ease digestive problems and reduce skin irritation.

Rose water is safe and gentle for all skin types. Rose water works well on dry and mature skin, as well as oily skin with acne. Rose water has a nutritious effect that helps to reduce skin redness.

Rose Oil in rose water stimulates the activity of keratinocytes (skin cells). These cells help heal and protect the skin from damage. Keratinocytes have properties that kill bacteria and fight inflammation. The water is effective against blemished skin and acne. We use rosewater in our Geranium Face Oil.
