What is Nettle?

Nettle is an herbal plant that has been used as a medicine and in cooking for centuries. Nettle leaves are often used today in tea drinks and this tea can promote healthy pregnancy, reduce inflammation and improve bladder and kidney functions.

Some people consider nettles as weeds because they grow so easily and abundantly, but these plants actually contain an incredible amount of nutrient-rich constituents, both when eaten and when used in skincare.

Nettle has small prickly hairs on the leaves and stems that can sting if touched. Nettle is rich in vitamins A and C, iron, potassium, manganese and calcium.

What does Nettle help with?

Because nettle has such a high level of antioxidants, it has a protective and anti-aging effect. Nettle has also been shown to regulate sebum production in the skin which will help to fight acne and blemished skin. It helps to soothe red and irritated skin. Nettle speeds up the healing process of wounds and burns, as well as eczema and other rashes.
